WORSHIPLUDE: The POINT
Twice a year, Ottawa Presbytery puts on a youth worship event called The POINT. Youth groups from all across the Ottawa area come together for an evening of fun, singing, drama and sharing. The music is upbeat and contemporary. The teaching is thought-provoking and fun. And each gathering culminates in the celebration of Communion, because young people - in their own, unique ways - are called to be present at Christ’s table. The POINT is a great event to bring your youth group to, and to use as a launch pad for deeper discussions about church and faith.
Our first service was in October 2008 at Glebe-St.James United Church. Since then, we’ve met every February and October. In February 2010, we held our first WORSHIPLUDE weekend, where we invited youth groups from far and wide to Ottawa for the Winterlude festival and The POINT. We had groups from Southern Ontario, Northern Ontario, Montreal and Eastern Quebec join us, and we look forward to welcoming more in the future.
